Facility 01

Sauna

A sauna built with Takigahara stone and materials from Ishikawa. It features gentle radiant heat, soothing air circulation, and a layout designed for deep relaxation and conversation.

Stone Bath

Feel the warmth of stone seep into your muscles. As you submerge, the tranquility of Takigahara’s stone bath cradles both body and mind.


Facility 03

“Dokan” Cold Bath

Filled with mountain spring water and surprisingly soft on the skin–a playful contrast. It's an energizing cool-down with a touch of nostalgia.


Facility 04

Terrace Lounge

Enjoy semi-outdoor rest time with clear views of Mt. Kurakake. Deep breaths in the fresh mountain air invite full-body relaxation.


Facility 05

Stream Cool-Down

Immerse in the natural stream that flows through the property. Experience a gentle cool-down unlike any plunge bath, where you literally blend into the landscape.

How It Works

  • Check-In:

    At TAKIGAHARA CRAFT & STAY front desk. Receive sauna wear and towels.。

  • Move to Sauna Pavilion:

    Change in the dressing room, shower, then start your session.

  • Warm Up:

    Enjoy the natural warmth of local stone and timber in the sauna.

  • Cool Down:

    Cool down in the Dokan cold bath and feel refreshed in both body and mind. Then enjoy a relaxing soak in the warm stone bath made from Kobi blue stone.

  • Outdoor Rest:

    Relax on the terrace with the breeze and views of Mt. Kurakake.

  • Sauna Meals & Drinks:

    Order local food and drinks on-site or at check-in.

  • Wrap Up:

    Change and check out at the front desk 10 minutes before your session ends.


Sauna Guidelines

  • Usage Time:
    • Each session is 2.5 hours of private use. Enjoy at your own pace and check out 10 minutes before the end.
  • Conversation-Friendly Design:
    • This is a Finnish-style sauna emphasizing fresh air and communication.
  • Health & Safety:
    • Please refrain if unwell or intoxicated. Stay hydrated and use at your own pace. Consult a doctor if pregnant or managing health conditions.
  • Rōryu Instructions:
    • Rōryu - the act of pouring water on sauna stones to produce steam. Pour 2–3 ladles of water on the stove every 10 minutes. Excess may damage the equipment.
  • Cold Bath Etiquette:
    • Shower before entering. No diving. Watch your step.
  • Food & Drink:
    • In-house orders and self-catering allowed. Please keep the facility clean.
  • Personal Belongings:
    • Manage your valuables responsibly. No electronic devices in the sauna.
  • Emergency:
    • Use the in-sauna emergency button if needed. Rest and hydrate immediately if you feel unwell.
