EAT & DRINK

Food connects us to the land and to each other. At TAKIGAHARA, we believe in the playful power of food in building our community of neighbors, travelers, and everyone in between.

Our local partners include farmers and hunters across Ishikawa who share not only the freshest ingredients but also their knowledge of sustainable practices and satoyama living.

On site, our chickens roam free and lay delicious eggs, and our growing farm helps keep our kitchens stocked with homegrown produce and herbs.

Whether you are a day visitor stopping by for a meal at our Cafe, a guest at CRAFT&STAY, or a participant in one of our retreats, we hope you can eat with us, and feel the warm sense of community we’re cultivating here at Takigahara!

LUNCH AND DINNER

TAKIGAHARA CAFE

The first building visitors see when they arrive in Takigahara is the cafe. We strive to make it a welcoming and open space for anyone to come by, relax, and have something to eat and drink. This includes visitors with dogs—with no restrictions on breeds, you and your dog can dine inside the cafe.

For lunch, we offer a menu that reflects our international community at Takigahara. You can enjoy flavors from Southeast Asia, the Americas, and more, all in this little corner of Ishikawa. The menu, which includes three main dishes, several side options, as well as sweets and drinks, changes every few months. We hope you can feel the season when you dine with us for lunch!

We prepare a casual chef’s choice dinner featuring local ingredients and international techniques. The menu includes three courses, with an option to add natural wine and dessert. Dinner is open to both overnight guests and daytime visitors, and we ask that you make a reservation at least two days in advance.

Hours: 10:30 - 18:00 (Cafe), 19:00 - 22:00 (Dinner, Fridays and Saturdays by reservation)
Closed: Tuesdays

BREAKFAST

CRAFT AND STAY

Guests staying overnight at CRAFT&STAY or TAKIGAHARA HOUSE can reserve breakfast at the time of booking. Our breakfasts are kind to both the body and the earth. You can enjoy the taste of our Takigahara eggs with local vegetables and bread, and feel refreshed for the day.

Hours: 8:00 - 10:00 (For overnight guests only)

BAR

MOSS BAR

Hidden within Takigahara, Moss Bar is a natural wine bar where we carefully select bottles with a focus on Japanese producers. It is a cozy spot to discover unique flavors that reflect both craftsmanship and nature.

Moss Bar is open exclusively to guests who have booked a weekend dinner at the cafe, creating an intimate experience to pair with your meal. For all other visitors, bottles can be purchased to take home and enjoy at your own pace.
